Job Description:
Please Note: This is a 100% onsite role and requires 5 days of work from the office.
Role Purpose:
This role involves coordinating among our Higher Education brands and brand librarians to identify digital learning resources needed, and then coordinating with digital content providers to ensure proper and secure contracts, providing a good student experience.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and promote the digital repository and open access publishing services by managing digital content contracts and local digital collections.
* Collaborate with librarians to support sharing scholarly outputs, including publications and research data.
* Assist faculty and students in creating open access journals at GEDU Library.
* Work with the Communications team to promote digital services on campus.
* Lead an Open Access Working Group to provide expertise and support.
* Develop methods to evaluate the effectiveness of repositories and publishing services.
* Provide leadership and guidance on digital repositories and scholarly communication.
* Work closely with librarians to develop policies and manage change.
* Ensure timely communication of developments and projects.
* Coordinate projects to ensure high-quality service.
* Participate in committees and external collaborations.
* Engage in research projects, grant activities, and training.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Masters or PhD in Library Science or equivalent.
* Experience with digital repositories and content management systems (e.g., Islandora, Drupal, Fedora Commons, DSpace, Dataverse).
* Project management experience with complex digital initiatives.
* Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Knowledge and Abilities:
* Ability to plan, coordinate, and implement digital projects independently and collaboratively.
* Knowledge of digital preservation standards and metadata standards.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Understanding of trends in digital libraries, scholarly communications, and research data management.
