Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager (Drylining)
Location: Kings Hill, Kent (office-based with site travel)
Salary: £60,000–£70,000 + car + benefits

The Role
Our client, a specialist drylining subcontractor, is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to own the end-to-end commercial function across multiple live projects. You’ll work closely with the Estimator and Contracts Managers to drive accurate cost control, monthly CVR/valuations, robust change management and timely cash collection.

What You’ll Do
* Lead monthly CVR, applications for payment and cashflow forecasting across 20–25 live contracts
* Manage subcontractor accounts end-to-end: procurement, variations, payment notices, and final accounts
* Tendering: maintain tender schedule, delegate pricing, check and adjudicate tenders, obtain material quotes, and negotiate terms/inclusions
* Provide value engineering input during design reviews; collaborate with the operations director on larger adjudications
* Post-award set-up: attend pre-start meetings, provide inputs for RAMS, issue targets/payment sheets and client valuation templates (“white card”)
* Maintain commercial records: variation/change logs, drawing revision comparisons, and evidence packs aligned to client formats
* Support commercial admin: PQQ/SSIP (SMAS/CQMS) evidence collation/renewals, and debtor/retention tracking with Accounts
What You’ll Bring
* 5–10 years’ commercial experience within drylining/interiors (partitions, ceilings, SFS) or closely related subcontracting
* Strong track record in monthly valuations/CVRs, change control and final accounts under JCT (NEC exposure beneficial)
* Confident tendering/adjudication experience and supplier/ subcontractor negotiation skills
* Excellent communication, planning and time management; comfortable office-based with site travel as required
* HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar preferred; full UK driving licence
