Job Description
Reed Engineering are currently working with a leading firm in the electronics industry to recruit a Test Engineer. This role is ideal for someone with a proven background in fault finding to component level on a wide range of electronic products, including both analogue and digital circuitry. The successful candidate will join a fast-growing team and contribute to the testing and quality assurance of electronic products.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Fault finding to component level on a variety of electronic products.
* Following schematic and circuit drawings to understand and troubleshoot issues.
* Fabricating test jigs to test products in line with specifications.
* Testing assembled PCBs to functional test specifications.
* Writing and updating test specifications and procedures as required.
* Maintaining accurate records of tests and outcomes.
* Utilizing ICT and XJTAG for testing purposes, experience with these is desirable.
* Applying knowledge of Labview, which is advantageous for the role.
* Ensuring adherence to current quality standards and build practices such as IPC, 5S, etc.
* Performing soldering and rework tasks proficiently.
* Utilizing good Windows-based PC skills for documentation and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Ideally qualified to HNC level, or possessing an Electronic Engineering Apprenticeship background.
* Strong fault-finding skills in electronic products, both analogue and digital.
* Ability to read and interpret schematic and circuit drawings.
* Experience in fabricating test jigs and testing PCBs.
* Proficiency in ICT, XJTAG, and Labview is highly advantageous.
* Understanding of quality standards like IPC and 5S methodologies.
* Good soldering and rework skills.
* Excellent Windows-based PC skills.
Additional information:
* Salary up £40,000 depending on relevant experience and skills.
* Working hours – Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00
