- Temp to Perm Academics are recruiting on behalf of an 'Outstanding' 52 week residential SEN School in Lymington which caters for both boys and girls aged 11-19 years with autism, severe learning difficulties and associated behaviours.
They are seeking an experienced Special Needs Teacher who has an understanding of ensuring positive outcomes for young autistic people who also have moderate and severe learning needs.
You will be required to implement and deliver lessons across the curriculum for a mixed 3/4 class of 6 young people who are each supported on a 1:1 basis throughout the day.
The successful Special Needs Teacher will be responsible for following schemes of work, creating medium term plans, lesson planning, delivering the curriculum to a class group and supporting students with ASD in learning activities and personal skills.
Most of all, you will be able to show an appreciation of the 5 Key aims of the school's curriculum promoting and supporting the students in; Increasing their Independence both in school and with their daily living skills, Increasing their ability to communicate effectively and encouraging them to use technology to assist them with this.
Supporting the students to develop their resilience both as learners in school and in facing the challenges of living in the wider world around them.
Promoting autonomy and confidence with regards to self-regulation and understanding their own feelings.
Encouraging the students to discover more about themselves and what potential for them that the world has to offer, helping them to develop new interests and to master new skills This is a full-time contract on a temporary to permanent basis for an experienced Special Needs Teacher who has worked within a similar SEN School/setting.
The salary is up to £39,600 per annum, working 37 hours per week, term-time only.
