 
        The Company A well-established Hertfordshire-based regional main contractor is seeking a Business Development Manager to join its Pre-Construction Team, supporting continued growth across the Home Counties and London. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality refurbishment and fit-out projects across the healthcare, education, commercial, community, and high-end retail sectors, the company has built long-term relationships and a robust client base. The Role Reporting directly to the Pre-Construction Director and working closely with the Commercial and Construction Directors, you will play a key role in driving business growth. You’ll combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to develop and strengthen client relationships, identify new opportunities, and promote the company as the contractor of choice across both the public and private sectors. Key Responsibilities * Drive business growth by expanding the company’s Healthcare, Education, and Commercial workstreams. * Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities. * Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key industry consultants (Architects, Cost Consultants, Project Managers, etc.). * Keep the CRM system up to date to protect and manage company intelligence. * Monitor market trends, regional pipelines, and tender opportunities. * Collaborate with estimating, commercial, and pre-construction teams to support bids and proposals. * Represent the company at industry events, networking functions, and strategic meetings. Ideal Candidate * Proven track record in business development within a main contracting environment. * Strong network of contacts across the Home Counties and London construction markets. * Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. * Ambitious, self-motivated, and commercially astute team player. * Based in or near the Hertfordshire / Bedfordshire area
