The Opportunity
Our client is currently recruiting for a QA/QC Inspector to support a major nuclear project. The successful candidate will be based in Barrow-in-Furness in South Cumbria, working 40 hours per week over 4 days on site. Rate will be dependent on experience due to the potential for candidates of different levels of seniority to apply.
The role will support the site Quality Lead team in all aspects of inspection and NDT techniques. The successful candidate will preferably have existing knowledge and experience in nuclear standards and processes.
Your duties and responsibilities:
The Role of the QA/QC Inspector will report to the Quality Manager and support the site Quality Lead team.
To deliver a high quality, consistent and competent before, during and welding Inspection in accordance with project / company requirements, standards and procedures;
To ensure that all work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment;
To read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the welding work scope is completed safely and to a high standard;
To complete all work scope in accordance with applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches;
To provide inspection support to construction activities where required, as part of an integrated multi-discipline team;
To compile complete quality documentation in accordance with company and contractual requirements;
To have thorough knowledge of fabrication and NDT techniques. VT, PT & MT;
To have thorough knowledge of QC Inspection and Dimensional Inspection techniques;
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector or 3.2 senior welding inspector
CSWIP/ PCN Level II, Penetrant Testing
PCN Level II, Magnetic Particle Inspection
Min 5 Years’ Experience as a Welding Inspector
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety
It’s great if you also have the following:
PCN Level II, Radiographic Interpretation
BGAS-CSWIP/ICorr/NACE Coatings Inspector
DV/SC clearance
The setting for the role
The role will be mainly office based with trips to site if required. A safety induction will be provided.
