This would be an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist wishing to increase their football experience in a supportive and developmental role: utilising the club's training ground as a development hub where there is access to the full suite of VALD technology.

Prospective candidates will be joining Oxford United at an exciting time in the club’s history: with a newly renovated training ground, measurable progress being made toward Category Two Academy status, and new stadium development well underway.

Main purpose of role:
1) To engage fully with the Academy Therapist Development programme.
2) To provide predominantly weekend (Sunday>Saturday) match cover (home & away) to Boys Academy players.
3) To provide ad-hoc midweek evening training pitch side medical cover as able and when need arises.

Key requirements:
•Minimum of BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
•HCPC or SST accredited practitioner.
•Up to date Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMMiF) qualification (or equivalent UEFA FDEP)
•Excellent communications skills, both written and verbally.
•Confident, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
•Ability to work collaboratively with players, parents and staff.
•Sound knowledge of manual therapy skills and sports rehabilitation.
•Sound knowledge of injury prevention methods and recovery strategies.
•Ability to educate, advise and motivate individuals.
•Preferably experience in an elite sports environment, especially with children and adolescents.
•Demonstrates up to date knowledge of the current evidence base and implement this within their practice.
•Candidates must be flexible and be willing to work hours as necessary to carry out their duties. This may include the covering matches and changing of venues at short notice.
•Candidate will need to perform duties at home match and away match venues, with the possibility of travel abroad, if necessary.
•A full UK drivers’ licence and access to your own vehicle would be advantageous

The EFL and Premier League have introduced positive action measures aimed at tackling the underrepresentation of coaches, managers and staff from Black, Asian and Minority Ethic (BAME) backgrounds within professional football. Here at Oxford United we are committed to exceeding these new requirements and, as a result, will shortlist at least one suitably qualified BAME candidate (where an application has been received) for all full-time roles within our Academy.

All candidates will be required to provide proof of all relevant certificates and qualifications and this post will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
