The role
As a Care and Maintenance Project Manager, you’ll lead a critical programme that supports the UK’s submarine capability – a role that truly makes a difference to national security. Day‑to‑day, you’ll be responsible for building and developing an integrated Project Delivery team that works together to ensure project success.
* Leading and coaching a multi‑disciplined Project team to deliver against key milestones
* Managing stakeholder relationships, including the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA)
* Developing detailed project plans and monitoring progress
* Overseeing budgets, resources and subcontractor performance
* Driving effective risk, change and issue management across the project lifecycle
This role is full‑time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2‑3 days in the office/onsite and 2‑3 days working from home.
Essential Experience
* Proven leadership and team coaching experience
* Strong track record in managing and delivering engineering projects
* Expertise in APM competencies: schedule, risk, change control, budgeting
* Experience working within a matrix organisation
* Excellent stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
* APM Project Management Qualification (preferable)
* APM Project Risk Management Level 2 (preferable)
* Degree qualified (desirable)
* APM Chartered Professional (ChPP) or Risk Management Level 2 (desirable)
* Commercial qualification (desirable)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
