About CIEE

CIEE is a nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization dedicated to transforming lives and building bridges between individuals and nations. For over 75 years, we’ve helped students develop the skills needed to thrive in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world. With the largest nonprofit study abroad network in the world, operating in 26 countries and supporting participants from over 130 nations annually, our work truly connects the world.

Why This Role Matters

The Program Manager is critical to the success of CIEE Edinburgh. Working directly with the Center Director, this role is central to the day-to-day operation of the centre and to the student experience. From student wellbeing and housing to activities, orientation, and health and safety, the Program Manager ensures our students are supported, engaged, and safe — creating an environment where they can thrive academically and personally.

The Role

As Program Manager, you will lead the coordination and quality assurance of student services, co-curricular programming, and residential life. You will be the primary point of contact for students and play a key role in delivering a safe, welcoming, and enriching study abroad experience.

Key responsibilities include:

* Advising and supporting students, including wellbeing and conduct matters
* Designing and delivering orientation, activities, excursions, and experiential learning opportunities
* Overseeing student housing and maintaining strong relationships with providers
* Ensuring robust health, safety, and emergency protocols
* Supporting academic administration and custom programmes
* Managing local marketing initiatives and social media
* Assisting with budgets, reporting, and seasonal staff supervision

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a proactive, student-focused professional with a passion for international education. You’ll be highly organised, adaptable, and confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond calmly to emerging situations are essential.

You should bring:

* Experience working with students or young adults
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong organisational and administrative capability
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends and support student trips
* Good knowledge of Edinburgh and Scotland (desirable)

If you’re motivated by meaningful work, thrive in a dynamic international environment, and want to play a pivotal role in shaping students’ global experiences, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit a CV and cover letter outlining your suitability for the role to Jacqui Bassett at jbassett@ciee.org
