The Cheltenham Trust is an independent charity that manages five iconic venues at the heart of Cheltenham including the Pittville Pump Room, Cheltenham Town Hall, Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Leisure at Cheltenham, and the Prince of Wales Stadium.
Leisure at Cheltenham boasts excellent swim, gym, indoor and outdoor sports facilities including a main pool, teaching pool, diving pool, and Splash Pad that aim to cater for all ages and abilities.

Role:
The Duty Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operations of our Leisure Centre and stadium facilities, delivering a high-quality and safe experience for all visitors. As the Duty Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and upholding standards in accordance with the site’s Normal Operating Procedures and Emergency Action Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely opening and closing all facilities and car parks, following checklists.
* Managing site plant rooms, conducting daily and weekly checks.
* Performing pool testing, chemical balance control, and pool-related tasks.
* Conducting yearly audits for RLSS compliance and maintaining the asset register.
* Overseeing stock levels, ordering equipment, and ensuring stock rotation.
* Leading recruitment and onboarding for the Operations team.
* Managing staff issues, conducting performance reviews, and managing the monthly rota.
* Monitoring footfall, bookings, and staff levels for income-generating activities.
* Handling customer complaints, collating feedback reports, and identifying improvement opportunities.
* Reporting accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Our Requirements – Duty Manager
* Experience gained in a supervisory / managerial role, ideally gained in a customer operations facing environment
* Previous experience line managing staff members would be beneficial
* Good knowledge of health, safety and security policies and procedures, including fire and security systems
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
* Practical, hands-on approach
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle multiple demands and deadlines
* NPLQ qualification desirable, full training can be provided
* Pool plant operators qualification desirable (training can be provided)

* This is a full time position working 40 hours per week on a rolling rota, including early morning, evening and weekends.
