We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James's Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park. We also manage other important public spaces including Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. Our eight Royal Parks and other iconic green spaces are among the most visited attractions in the UK with tens of millions of visits every year. We are now looking for a Records Administrator to join us on a full-time basis for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The Organisation The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We are now looking for a Records Administrator to join us on a full-time basis for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Please note, due to the nature of the role, we require the post holder to be on site 5 days per week. The Role As the Records Officer, you will support the development and care of a structured archive of both physical and digital records. You'll review, evaluate, and catalogue materials of potential historical significance, ensuring they are either preserved appropriately or securely destroyed when no longer needed. Working closely with the Senior Information Governance Manager and Records Manager, you'll help prepare records for transfer to The National Archives in line with legislative requirements. You'll also play a part in promoting and raising the profile of The Royal Parks Archive across the organisation and beyond. This is a hands‑on role that will suit someone passionate about archives, knowledge preservation, and the heritage of public institutions. Additionally, you will: Assist in developing and maintaining an archive of physical and digital records Review paper and digital records not selected by The National Archives but which may hold historical or organisational value Assess materials marked for destruction, ensuring anything of potential interest is retained Prepare records for secure destruction where appropriate Support the transfer of both paper and digital records to The National Archives Engage stakeholders and raise awareness of The Royal Parks Archive Adhere to organisational policies including data protection, security, equality and diversity, and health and safety Undertake additional duties as required About You To be considered as a Records Administrator, you will need: Strong interest in archives, heritage, and knowledge preservation Ability to assess and interpret information across a range of formats Excellent organisational skills, with strong attention to detail Able to work independently, manage workload and use initiative Clear communication skills and confidence engaging with stakeholders Commitment to The Royal Parks' values: responsible, excellent, inclusive, open and respectful We want to put everyone in the best possible position to succeed and use Recite-me accessibility software.
