Field Service Engineer/Plant Mechanic – Mobile Role (Midlands)
1. Location: Birmingham and Surrounding Areas

3. Basic Salary up to £41,500
4. Overtime 1.5x
5. 40-hours a week
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a background in plant or heavy machinery maintenance? We’re seeking skilled professionals to join a reputable and expanding team, supporting customers across the Midlands region. This is a mobile role based in or around Birmingham, offering flexibility, responsibility, and ongoing professional development.
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing construction plant and equipment for a wide range of clients. Your day-to-day duties will include:
6. Providing onsite technical support for machinery within the Midlands region
7. Conducting scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs
8. Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical faults efficiently
9. Delivering high-quality workmanship in a timely manner
10. Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
11. Supervising apprentices when required, ensuring best practices are followed
12. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer who can demonstrate:
13. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant/Land-Based Mechanical Engineering
14. OR 10+ years of relevant industry experience
15. Experience servicing a wide range of heavy tracked plant machinery
16. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
17. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
18. Excellent customer service and communication skills
19. A valid CPCS card is desirable
