You'll be working at the forefront of underwater technology helping design and deliver high-performance sonar systems used around the world in defence, scientific, and commercial applications. What youll be doing Youll join a small, collaborative hardware team responsible for the design, development, and testing of electronic systems powering our world-class sonar solutions. Your work will span the full product lifecycle from concept through to delivery and beyond. Key responsibilities include: Designing analogue and digital circuitry, including schematic capture Developing and laying out multi-layer PCBs Testing, debugging, and troubleshooting hardware systems Supporting firmware and FPGA development Creating robust design documentation Assisting with obsolescence management and through-life hardware support Collaborating across disciplines to bring ideas to life Youll have access to cutting-edge development tools and test facilities in our Sparkford office, where most of the hands-on engineering takes place. What were looking for Were seeking a proactive and curious engineer with a strong grounding in electronics and a willingness to learn. Essential: Degree in Electronic Engineering or related field (2:1 or above) Demonstrated experience or project work in electronic design Enthusiasm for learning new skills in digital, analogue, firmware and FPGA Clear communicator and team player Desirable: Master's degree in a related discipline FPGA development in VHDL, preferably using Intel Quartus Embedded software development in C/C++ Altium Designer experience for PCB layout Familiarity with interfaces such as Ethernet, RS232/RS485, SPI, I2C Knowledge of signal conditioning, analogue design, or automated testing We welcome early-career engineers who are eager to grow if youre a recent graduate or have industry experience, wed still love to hear from you.
