People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire. This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a respected logistics company.
Shifts: Monday to Friday – Start times between 04:00 and 16:00 Pay Rates: £16.66 – £20.82 per hour

Rates of Pay
06:00 – 18:00: £16.66 per hour
18:00 – 06:00: £20.82 per hour
Day-to-Day Duties
Safely and efficiently drive Category C+E vehicles, completing 3–5 trunk runs per day
Operate curtain-sider trailers and secure all loads correctly (including awkward loads)
Make timely deliveries to various destinations
Communicate effectively with the transport team
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Ensure compliance with all driving laws and working time directives
Essential Skills
Valid UK Category C+E Licence
Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum of six months' continuous experience driving Class 1 (C+E) vehicles
Maximum of six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsement codes)
Excellent communication and time management skills
Professional and reliable attitude
Desirable Experience
Previous experience securing and strapping abnormal loads
Experience manoeuvring in tight delivery depots
Training Provided
Driving assessment required prior to start
Three-day company induction programme provided
Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
