Assistant Branch Manager – Builders Merchant
Our client, a well-established builders merchant, is looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Branch Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong merchant experience looking to progress within a growing company.
Working Hours
1. Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:30pm
2. Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm finish
3. Saturday: 7:00am – 10:30am
(One Saturday on, one Saturday off)
Principle Objectives
4. Provide full support for the Branch Manager and take responsibility for the branch in their absence
5. Deliver knowledgeable, friendly and dependable customer service
6. Help maximise branch sales and profitability
7. Work efficiently as part of the team to exceed customer expectations
Key Responsibilities
8. Build strong relationships with customers and understand their requirements
9. Identify sales opportunities and provide suitable product advice and solutions
10. Maintain a clean, organised and well-merchandised counter area
11. Ensure all paperwork and sales procedures are completed in line with company policy
12. Liaise with suppliers, other branches and departments when required
13. Support the Branch Manager and wider team to ensure smooth branch operations
14. Maintain high standards of health & safety and housekeeping
15. Assist with stock-taking, ordering stock, customer enquiries and other branch duties as required
Requirements
16. Previous experience within a builders merchant is essential
17. Supervisory or management experience preferred
18. Strong product knowledge within the building supplies industry
19. Excellent customer service and communication skills
20. Organised, reliable and proactive approach
