Landmarc Support Services is looking for a motivated and experienced Team Leader to oversee key operations on the Defence Training Estate. This role is integral to maintaining the estate’s functionality and safety, ensuring military personnel can train effectively.
Team Leader Responsibilities
* Manage a team of Training Area Operatives, focusing on the Range Towers Team involved in live firing exercises.
* Oversee the safety and operation of range targetry systems, providing a workspace for Landmarc staff and visiting troops.
* Actively participate in hands‑on tasks – approximately 80% of time working alongside the team.
* Monitor live firing activities from range control, checking camera and radar systems.
* Operate fleet vehicles and plant machinery as required.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation using IT and paper‑based systems.
* Perform additional duties as required to support overall team success.
* Liaise with the customer and contractors on a regular basis.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience leading a high‑performing team in a rural or operational environment.
* Strong people management and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a diverse, multi‑tasking mobile team environment.
* Basic labouring, caretaking and housekeeping skills.
* Proven track record of achieving objectives.
* Ability to complete documentation.
* IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database management.
* Valid UK manual driving licence.
* Knowledge of radar systems (desirable).
* Basic radio use (desirable).
Working Conditions
Shifts run Monday to Friday 07:30 – 17:30. Hours of work: 39 per week. Annual allowance: £1,127.50 Radar Allowance. Contract: Permanent. Location: Lulworth Ranges, Lulworth, Wareham, Dorset, BH20 5QF.
