About The School
Outwood Academy Valley has 1500 students aged 11 to 16 and shares a Post 16 Centre, which has 500 students, with Outwood Academy Portland. The Post 16 Centre is just a two-minute walk from the school. Both sites have excellent facilities providing a bright and motivational learning and working environment. We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child.
Since joining the Outwood Family in 2012, the academy has been consistently among the top schools for Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire for GCSE results, including English and Maths. Along with strong results and attainment levels, students make above average progress.
About The Role
Outwood Academy Valley are looking to appoint a Lead Learning Manager. This role includes managing the Learning Manager team, communicating clear purpose and vision to ensure students have the support they require to maximise the student attainment and life changes and to take a strategic and operational lead for the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people. We seek applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.
We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning, and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development. We believe that all support staff within our Family of Schools are key posts in terms of securing student success and achievement across a broad range of subjects and experiences. As such we are keen to recruit dedicated and ambitious individuals who will add value to our Academy in both academic terms and through involvement in the fabric of learning and success beyond the classroom.
Message From Our Community Executive Principal
As the Community Executive Principal, I'm excited to share why joining our team offers a unique and rewarding experience that goes beyond working in a single school - if you choose to become a part of the team you will influence the lives of over 6,000 young people; shaping their futures by raising standards and transforming lives. Imagine being part of a supportive network of four Outwood academies across Nottinghamshire and Sheffield, where collaboration and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. Across the learning community we host joint senior team meetings, schedule regular learning walks in different schools for colleagues (at all levels), work with local businesses to secure student opportunities and enrichments and are constantly developing mechanisms for working with parents. We have fostered a culture of sharing the very best practice across the community and are committed to providing world class professional development for teaching and support staff.
With Us, You Will Have The Opportunity To
* Connect and collaborate with colleagues across multiple schools: Share best practices, participate in joint projects, and learn from a diverse range of experienced professionals.
* Develop your skills and expertise: Benefit from a wide range of professional development opportunities and contribute to a dynamic learning community.
* Make a bigger impact: Your contributions will extend beyond your own classroom, and school, influencing and supporting colleagues and students across the community.
* Be part of something bigger: Experience the strength and support of a close-knit community within the larger Outwood family.
We work closely with each academy in our community to facilitate collaboration, share strengths, learn from each other, and strive for improvement. This creates a supportive environment where everyone can thrive and helps extend and enrich the lives of our students as part of a wider community.
