Level 2 Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1 (KS1)
Location: Leigh
Start Date: ASAP (Ongoing into September 2026)
Contract: Full-Time (32.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri)
Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a stable, long-term role in a supportive environment? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate Level 2 TA to join a vibrant, two-form entry primary school in the heart of Leigh.
The Role
As a General Class TA, you will be an integral part of the Key Stage 1 team. Your mission is to support pupils during their transition from the Foundation Stage into a more formal learning environment, ensuring every child has the tools they need to succeed.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Class Teacher in the delivery of the KS1 curriculum.
Leading small group interventions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy.
Working 1:1 with students who require additional guidance to stay on track.
Creating an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
Assisting with classroom management and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth school day.
The School
You will be joining a friendly, two-form entry school known for its community feel and commitment to staff development. Being a two-form entry school, you will benefit from working alongside experienced partner teachers and TAs, sharing resources and best practices across the year group.
Requirements
Qualification: Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
Experience: Previous experience working within a primary school setting, ideally in KS1.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of Phonics (Read Write Inc. or similar) is highly desirable.
Availability: Ability to work 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) and full employment history.
