We're looking for an organised, motivated and experienced individual to join our small team to help deliver road running races across South West Wales. We organise multi-award winning events to thousands of runners each year. Here at Front Runner Events, we're committed to providing safe, high-quality events, whilst increasing activity and movement in all ages, abilities and demographics.
We're looking for an outstanding Event Manager to support our continued and successful delivery of mass participation events. The role covers a variety of aspects from event operational planning and delivery, participant support and volunteer recruitment whilst maintaining our high standards. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the event planning, course logistics, delivery and management across our events portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Pre event
: Planning and budget management
- Event delivery
: Delivery and management
- Post event
: Break down, feedback review and complaints procedure
- Admin
: Maintain excellent records, communication and feedback in a timely manner.
· Support event directors across all key event functions.
· Lead on the operational planning and development of physical events.
· Create and manage operational documentation from course maps, volunteer deployment plans, safety documents and briefing documents.
· Maintain and develop relationships with stakeholders.
· Management and coordination of all event suppliers.
· Budget management.
· Attend in-person and remote meetings as and when required to assist with event planning.
· Helping set up and dismantle events efficiently through to completion.
· Drive volunteer recruitment, cultivate relationships with existing volunteers, and oversee their welfare and experience during events.
· Line manage the administrative assistant.
· Respond to general enquiries via telephone and online where necessary.
· Deliver event briefings when required.
· Embed best practices and continuous improvement throughout the event management cycle.
· Update and manage all event documentation such as risk assessment, management plans, volunteer deployment plans, briefing documents and other such similar documentation.
Experience and Essential Skills
The successful candidate should possess the following experience, skills and competencies:
Essential
· Minimum 2 years' experience in live event planning.
· Experience of managing/leading a team.
· Experience of working closely with Senior Management.
· Experience managing and delivering concurrent projects under time pressure.
· Experience of budget management.
· Outstanding organisation and communication skills.
· Ability to be proactive and reactive.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Excellent I.T. skills (inc. all Microsoft applications).
· Exceptional customer service.
· A strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as being comfortable with working weekends and on-site with early starts.
· A willingness to be hands-on.
· Full driving license is essential.
Desirable
· Knowledge and experience of project management software, such as Iventis or equivalent.
· Knowledge of the UK running industry.
· Passionate about events and running.
