Job Description
Purpose
The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the Liverpool site technical quality team to ensure that products are safe, legal, and manufactured to standards that meet or exceed all specifications. The Quality Manager will oversee all aspects of Food Safety compliance for the site, including production, internal and external product specifications, customer complaints, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the QA team on site.
* Maintain and audit the Quality Management System including BRC.
* Ensure HACCP system compliance and manage site audit schedules.
* Liaise with customers on quality issues and coordinate visits/audits.
* Communicate technical performance information proactively within the business.
* Train QA team members and site colleagues on technical standards.
* Conduct internal audits to ensure systems and standards are in place.
* Ensure all products meet customer specifications.
* Perform root cause analysis when necessary.
* Sample, test quality, perform positive release of finished goods, and control stock movement; notify supervisors of quality or food issues.
* Participate in customer site audits and address any issues.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in Quality Management.
* Comprehensive understanding of Food and Environmental Legislation.
* Experience with Quality Control and Food Safety compliance.
* Experience with Site Audits (BRC) and documentation readiness.
* Product analysis experience.
* Knowledge of HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP standards.
* Ability to collaborate across departments.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
Working hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm with flexibility. Benefits include 25 days holiday + 8 stats, site closure at Christmas (holidays not included), pension scheme (5% employee, 4% employer), attendance, safety, and Christmas bonuses.
