Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Team Member to join our Hotel team in Kingston upon Hull, United Kingdom. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall upkeep of our property.
10. Undertake and manage various general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electricity telecommunications, heat, carpentry and decorating
11. Conduct routine inspection of premises and equipment and handle basic repairs and maintenance requirements.
12. Inspecting building structures, equipment and assets performing reactive and preventive maintenance · Perform task and deliver service with the highest level of discretion, aiming for minimal disruption and inconvenience for guests and visitors
13. Actively seek to contribute to the comfort of guests and visitors
14. Remain proactive and approach tasks and requests with a can-do-attitude
15. Handle basis repairs and maintenance ; coordinate and oversee contractors and external providers ensuring they work in relation to service agreements and procedures
16. Install, inspect and troubleshoot equipment, appliances and systems
17. Maintain and replace heating, air conditioning and distribution systems as and when required
18. Liaise with and supervise contractors and external providers to carry out work activities
19. Assist in record keeping and keep daily log of repairs and maintenance of assets and equipment
20. Respects Accor's Legionnaires' disease directive,
21. Apply the Hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)
22. Champion the Hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc),
23. Actively contributes to the safety of people and property (ensuring safety exits remain clear of obstruction etc)
24. Take responsibility for identifying areas of improvement within range of operation, including risk awareness
25. Undertake appropriate training to develop increased expertise in the area of work concerned
26. Report stock levels
Qualifications
27. Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
28. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
29. Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
30. Keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
31. Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
32. Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations relevant to facility maintenance
33. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
34. Physical stamina and capability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
35. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively in challenging situations
36. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and interaction with guests
37. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
38. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in a relevant field is a plus
