Kenton Black are seeking a permanent Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their clients expanding team in Dundee. The client, a leading civil engineering and building contractor operating across Scotland, is looking to appoint a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor. This strategic role offers a hands-on opportunity to oversee the commercial success of varied and complex projects, delivering work that shapes communities across the region.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the financial management and reporting on major civil and commercial contracts
* Prepare and assess bills of quantities, valuations, and subcontract agreements
* Monitor and manage cost control procedures, ensuring profitability targets are met
* Provide commercial support and guidance to operational teams throughout the project lifecycle
* Negotiate contracts and liaise confidently with clients, subcontractors, and consultants
What You Bring
* Demonstrable experience within a civil engineering or main contracting environment
* Robust understanding of NEC and JCT contracts and their practical application
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and commercial judgment
* Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent professional qualification
* Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proactive and collaborative mindset
