We are delighted to support an Outstanding day and residential special school in Eastleigh, catering to boys aged 10-16 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including ADHD, Autism, and challenging behaviour. We are currently seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with class teachers to support learning and behaviour development
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
* Encourage pupils to develop self-esteem, resilience, and confidence
* Assist in delivering creative, structured lessons that balance challenge and support
* Monitor and record pupil progress in partnership with teaching staff
* A collaborative team player with initiative and a good sense of humour
Qualifications
* Experience or backgrounds in education, support work, sports, or psychology are welcome
* Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy
* Adaptability in tailoring strategies to meet diverse pupil needs
* Professional, well-organised, and committed to safeguarding at all times
