ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Care Home Maintenance Assistant, you'll help to create the safe and attractive surroundings that enable us to give our residents the quality care and support they deserve. It's important that our home gives the right first impression and that every area is always well-maintained. The role of Maintenance Assistant offers plenty of variety as you'll undertake a range of tasks to make sure our building and grounds are at their best all day, every day.

You'll perform regular checks (weekly and monthly checks), carry out repairs when needed, contact engineers or service agents. You'll be confident doing fire, basic electrical and appliance checks. Faults must be reported and actioned promptly.

WORKING HOURS AND SALARY

* £13.44 per hour plus a generous holiday allowance.

* Flexible week hours to suit you (May include call out and occasional weekend work).

ABOUT YOU

You'll need some experience of property maintenance to join us as a Maintenance Assistant. We'll also want to see a patient, caring nature, and a genuine interest in our residents. As well as that, you should be reliable and ready to turn your hand to a range of tasks all focused on keeping the home maintained to the highest standards.

You're a multi-tasker who can work well under pressure and use your initiative to solve problems. Above all, you're a team player who takes pride in your work and is committed to maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for our residents.

WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

* Ensuring that all maintenance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to our residents and visitors.
* Contributing to the management of the maintenance budget, taking the lead as appropriate
* Reporting unrepairable defects to management, escalating, or seeking specialist repair if required.
* Ensuring that all health and safety and compliance checks are carried to deadlines, and all policies and guidelines are always adhered to.
* Working on call as and when required to support our care home outside of hours.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.44 per hour
