Purpose of Position
1. To share with other staff in meeting the health needs of clients by controlling and monitoring their dietary requirements.
2. To prepare, cook and serve meals and ensure that meals are regularly provided, are nourishing, well presented and are of an appealing variety to the clients.

1. To support the Head Chef
Principal Responsibilities
1. To offer choice you will assist in the planning of Menus with clients and care staff.
2. To ensure that, through the monitoring of quantity, variety and quality of food and with due regard for special dietary requirements, the dietary needs of all the clients are met
3. To ensure that good standards of food presentation prevail at all times so that clients have a healthy diet and enjoy their food and thus maintain their weight.
4. To keep the home within the law and with its policy on food provision, you must keep all necessary records relating to freezer and fridge temperatures, food stocks and menu variety.
5. To ensure that good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained for all food areas. This will ensure the home meets its legal and policy obligations.
6. To ensure there is a consistent approach to food provision, participate in staff meetings and in training activities as directed.
7. Other such duties as may reasonably be required.
Training & Development
1. Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
2. Attend mandatory training days/courses; on or off site, as and when required.

About Bablake House
We provide care and support for up to 45 very vulnerable older people who need support. We work in partnership with some our Local Authorities & CCGs.
With a team of dedicated and highly skilled Staff, we enable those we support to continue living independently in their home at Bablake House.
Health and Safety

Job Knowledge Essential Desirable
1. Knowledge and/or experience of Catering
2. Knowledge and/or experience of people with Dementia
3. Catering Qualification to NVQ 2 or higher
