This is a hands-on, shop-floor-based position offering autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to directly influence product and process excellence.

About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Quality Engineer will ensure that all products and processes meet regulatory, customer, and company quality requirements. You’ll take ownership of reporting, root cause analysis, and quality improvement activities, working closely with production and engineering teams to uphold the highest standards. This role is ideal for someone who is self-sufficient, detail-driven, and confident working both independently and collaboratively on the shop floor.
Working hours:
Monday to Thursday: 07:00–16:00
Friday: 07:00–11:30
(38.5-hour working week)
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes aligned with AS9100/ISO9001 standards
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for non-conformances
Support First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102 standards
Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve quality concerns and drive improvements
Prepare and maintain inspection plans, control plans, and quality reports
Support internal and external audits in line with AS9100 requirements
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive process improvements
Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) projects
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and 8D
The ideal Quality Engineer will have:
Proven experience as a Quality Engineer (or similar) within Aerospace, Automotive, or Precision Engineering
Strong understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems
Experience with AS9102 FAI, PPAP, APQP, and NADCAP (desirable)
Strong background in RCA, 5-Why, 8D, and FMEA problem-solving techniques
Competence in quality tools/software (e.g., Minitab, SPC, CMM, ERP/MRP systems)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in the Oil & Gas sector would be highly advantageous but not essential
A practical, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work
