About the recipient
The individual is female and resides in Market Weighton. Seeking a support worker for 14 hours per week, or a job share of the hours is available which will provide cover when required. Please state on your cv or application how many hours you wish to apply for.
They require a dedicated and suitable person to support them due to having Autism, complex PTSD.
About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Meal preparation and some domestic tasks.
2. Assisting the individual with medication.
3. Assisting with personal care items.
4. Aiding the individual with financial budgeting.
5. Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
6. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
7. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
About the candidate
The suitable candidate must:
8. Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
9. Be patient, caring and understanding.
10. Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
11. Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
12. Have previous experience caring for an individual with additional needs.
13. Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
14. Must have use of own car, to transport individual to social activities and appointments.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post - Cost to be met by the local authority.
