Location: Reading
Salary: £27,441 per annum
Working Hours: 7-3-7-4 shift pattern between 07:00-22:00 (8 or 7 hour shifts) averaging 35 hours per week. Shifts will be explained at interview stage.

Role Overview

The Corporate Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding the organisation’s people, assets, information and reputation. This role ensures compliance with security policies, mitigates risks and responds effectively to incidents to maintain a secure and resilient business environment.


Key Responsibilities

* Display excellent situational awareness in a high‑end corporate environment.
* Facilitate access/egress to the client’s estate whilst maintaining a high level of client‑facing and customer service skills.
* Plan for and provide escorts for VIP visitors, liaising with supervisors and managers.
* Ensure the front of house is staffed at all times.
* Monitor protest and demonstration activity and respond/escalate as appropriate.
* Assist staff, guests and contractors in passing information, giving direction or responding to queries to a high standard.
* Be fully conversant with all SOPs, assignment instructions, post notes and client/EMCOR UK procedures.
* Complete incident reports to a high level.
* Work in a security control room (CCTV), front of house, internal and external patrols and any other posts as required.
* Ensure client confidentiality is respected at all times.
* Display your SIA licence at all times whilst on duty.
* Submit reports as instructed by the Security Management Team or Shift Supervisor.
* Participate positively in staff welfare or development programmes and mandatory training.
* May be instructed to work on a shift pattern such as 4 on 4 off (days, nights and weekends).
* Carry out any other reasonable request as required by the client/security management team.
* Comply with and demonstrate a positive commitment to a high level of customer service, professional presentation and confidentiality throughout employment.
* May be required to carry out duties beyond those specified.


Qualifications & Experience

* SIA Licence required – DS & CCTV.
* At least 2 years of Corporate Security and/or Front‑of‑house experience an advantage.
* Ex‑forces/Concierge experience would be an advantage.
* Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and have flexibility to change due to operational needs.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent command of the English language and competent IT skills.
* Reliable, punctual and approachable.
* Take pride in appearance, ensuring immaculate presentation.
* Flexible approach to daily duties and additional events when held on site.
