Role: Account Manager Location: Birmingham Business Park B37 (3 days) home working (2 days) Contract: Permanent Salary: £40,000 Benefits: Up to 10% company performance bonus potential, enhanced 7% employer pension scheme, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, life assurance x4 salary and health insurance We are supporting our client to recruit a proactive and experienced Account and Business Development Manager, who will be responsible for driving outbound commercial activity, managing the sales pipeline, and developing long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders. Initially the focus of your role will involve key account management, to build rapport and trusting relationships with existing clients to proactively upsell products and services. You will also be involved in lead generation, conversion of inbound enquiries, tender proposal management and managing sales pipeline to track current and lost opportunities to help shape strategies for growth. You will work closely with the Operations Director, to support the business in developing its brand outlook, and identifying current and emerging needs to be addressed. The successful candidate will have a proven B2B track record in key account management and business development ideally within Automotive, Aerospace or Manufacturing sector. Role and responsibilities: * As an Account Development Manager you will initially focus on key account management, to build rapport and trusting relationships with existing clients to proactively upsell products and services then lead on driving outbound commercial activity * Work closely with the Operations Director and Marketing Manager to regularly review sales pipeline and performance to support strategic planning to support forecasting and deliver on sales targets and revenue goals * Responsible for accurately managing the sales pipeline in the CRM (Salesforce) * Analyse conversion rates, track closed/lost opportunities, and provide insights into customer trends and competitor activity * Lead on all outbound sales activity, identifying new opportunities through proactive engagement with clients * Responsible for building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with existing and prospect clients, Tier 1s, OEMs and key decision-makers within the automotive and manufacturing sectors * Champion customer insight and feedback across the business, ensuring client needs are reflected in service development * Support the marketing team with contributing to the development of sales materials and outbound marketing campaigns * Attend client meetings, industry events, and conferences to raise the company profile, gain market knowledge and proactively generate business leads in the sector Skills and experience required: * Proven demonstrable experience in key account management and B2B sales * Ideally experience within the automotive, aerospace or manufacturing sector and possessing strong knowledge of OEMs and Tier 1s * Ability to build and maintain rapport with internal colleagues and external clients * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong organisational and time management skills * Strong commercial acumen * Experience managing sales data and pipelines (preferably Salesforce) * Comfortable attending client meetings and industry events to generate business proactively * Positive, self-motivated, and proactive attitude As an Account Manager and Business Development Manager, your working pattern will be hybrid. As part of your hybrid working pattern, there will be a requirement adhoc to travel to visit clients, attend events and other office locations as required by the business.
