About the Role:
As a PCO, you will be an essential part of a team that provides safe and secure escorting and custody services to detainees. Your focus will be on maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing throughout court proceedings. Key responsibilities include:
* Escorting defendants to and from courtrooms, ensuring their safety and security.
* Monitoring and supervising detainees during court sessions.
* Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism while handling sensitive information.
* Ensuring detainees have access to food and drink, catering to dietary needs.
* Monitoring the mental and physical health of detainees and reporting concerns.
* Ensuring the safety of the court environment and responding to emergencies.
* Completing necessary paperwork and data entry accurately.
* Collaborating with court staff, law enforcement, and legal professionals.
What You Need:
We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds. What matters most is your commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. You will receive comprehensive training over 5.5 weeks, so prior experience is not essential. Ideally, you should have:
* A valid driver's license.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* A high level of responsibility and the ability to handle challenging situations with care.

* Competency-based virtual interview.
* Short role-play and written exercise.
Additional Information:
All roles are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Employment offers are subject to Ministry of Justice Enhanced Level 2 checks and satisfactory references.
This role is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Candidates must meet specific eligibility criteria, including:
* At least two years remaining on your current visa.
* Living in the UK for at least one year.
