Position: The role involves representing clients in court proceedings related to child protection and care, including matters such as care orders, supervision orders, adoption, and placement applications. You will provide clear, concise legal advice, ensuring clients remain fully informed of their rights and obligations throughout every stage of the legal process. You will manage a varied caseload of both public and private law children matters, handling cases from the initial instructions through to court hearings while ensuring that all deadlines and court timetables are adhered to. Collaboration with other professionals - such as social workers, guardians, and expert witnesses - is essential to ensure that the best interests of the child remain at the centre of every case. The position also requires attending meetings with clients, local authorities, and other key stakeholders, as well as negotiating settlements where appropriate. You will prepare all necessary legal documentation and attend court hearings on behalf of clients, presenting their case clearly and advocating their position effectively. Additionally, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all cases, ensuring that all client files are managed efficiently, securely, and in line with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
