This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our dedicated Children Looked After (CLA) Nursing Team.

The number of Children Looked After (CLA) and the movement of children in and out of care is increasing. The demand for statutory health assessments is constantly challenging with over 50% of Buckinghamshire Children looked After paced outside of the county borders.

As an expert clinician the specialist nurse will undertake quality Review Health Assessments (RHA's) alongside wrap-a-round health care supporting therapeutic relationships with the goal of improved health outcomes for the babies, children and young people we care for.

* This is a privileged role looking after the health needs of some of the most vulnerable yet resilient children in our community.

The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of children looked after and children known to the youth justice service, autonomously undertaking direct specialist clinical work including carrying out statutory health assessment reviews.

The post holder will work in partnership with the Named and Designated professionals to implement National Guidance and Local Policy for Children Looked After.

The post holder will support training to other health and social care professionals.

The post holder will have responsibility for children placed out of Buckinghamshire. This includes undertaking the health assessment and/or liaison with other agencies and services, coordinating effective care and acting as an advocate where necessary.

The post holder will provide expertise and demonstrate sophisticated clinical skills to work directly with vulnerable children and adolescents from a background of trauma and/or neglect.
