Overview
AXA Health is looking for a Data Scientist to join the Data Science team. You will utilise traditional and generative AI techniques to uncover practical insights from a wide range of internal and external datasets. Your work will support operational efficiencies, cost optimisation, revenue growth, market share, and regulatory and legal compliance. Flexible working arrangements are available, with at least 40% of work time away from home (two days a week) increasing to 60% (three days a week) in future, including possible office, client, or industry event attendance.
What you'll be doing
* Analyse a broad spectrum of structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.
* Contribute to projects from ideation and proof of concept through deployment and release.
* Collaborate in cross-disciplinary, agile teams with data scientists, business analysts, IT specialists, and engineers to deliver value through data science, AI, and advanced analytics.
* Apply advanced programming techniques in Python and use appropriate analytics, data science, and AI methods, both traditional and generative, to extract business insights.
* Present and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders across seniority levels.
* Ensure compliance with data and model risk governance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Engage in ad hoc projects as required, providing expertise and support where needed.
Qualifications
* Master's degree or equivalent in a highly numerical field such as data science, AI, mathematics, statistics, or computer science.
* Proven experience applying supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning methods to solve complex business problems in a data science or AI environment.
* Experience developing and deploying generative AI projects, including LLMs, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG techniques, and AI agents.
* Strong knowledge of explainable AI methods and best practices in MLOps and LLMOps.
* Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL, with solid data visualization abilities.
* Familiarity with data and AI model risk governance and the ability to communicate insights clearly, focusing on trust and relevance.
* Excellent teamwork skills; knowledge of the financial and insurance sectors is advantageous.
* You must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
