We areseeking a Manager from a non-life insurance background to join ourActuarial practice. You’ll work on Reserving, Pricing and/or Risk andCapital projects across the London/Lloyd’s market and/or the Personal& Commercial lines market, as well as multidisciplinary projectsaround areas such as transactions, organisational transformation, costreduction and start-ups. You’ll be open to new challenges,self-motivated, agile and be able to leverage your existing skills innew areas like IFRS 17.
Responsibilities:
You’ll manage and deliver a wide range of concurrent actuarial andmultidisciplinary assignments.
You’ll interactwith clients, often as the main point of contact on assignments.
You’ll have the opportunity to work inmultidisciplinary teams or with people from our network firmsoverseas.
You’ll take an active role insupporting the strategic management and running of the practice, e.g.through being involved in developing one of our core product areassuch as IFRS 17, risk and capital or developing and presentingtraining programs for graduates and staff.
You’llbe involved in the development of more junior staff through on the jobcoaching, or acting as a career coach, mentor or study mentor.
Requirements:
Background either as arecognised general insurance consultant or have successfully deliveredsignificant, actuarially related projects from within the generalinsurance industry.
Have led actuarial ormultidisciplinary projects, being responsible for project managementand delivery, including the management, development and growth ofstaff, delegation of responsibilities and delivering projects to timeand budget.
Good understanding of a broad rangeof commonly used reserving and/or pricing techniques, the keyactuarially-orientated and regulatory issues faced by the market, anda good working knowledge of one or more of financial reporting, riskand capital, Solvency II, model validation or other related non-lifeinsurance work.
Experience of implementation ofSolvency II or IFRS 17, or related experience, would be a benefit.
Statement of Actuarial Opinion (SAO) and Lloyd'sexperience would be beneficial.
Be able tocommunicate complex technical matters in a clear way.
Wider commercial awareness, including the understanding of widerbusiness issues facing the insurance industry.
