Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to work in the community CPFT Speech and Language Therapy Team in the Peterborough area. The post holder will provide input to patients with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties. The team meets regularly for meetings and the post holder will receive regular line management and clinical supervision. This post would suit a current Band 5 therapist who is dysphagia trained, and the candidate would be supported to develop into a Band 6 role. Development would include training in line management and supervision, LSVT and potentially voice therapy. Please note travel around the county is required. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have use of a vehicle. Public transport is not considered a reliable form of transport for meeting service needs.
Responsibilities
* Provide speech and language therapy input to patients on outpatient and domiciliary bases and input to community hospital wards, delivering a high standard of clinical care.
* Work with patients with communication impairment and dysphagia; may include some voice work and the opportunity to deliver LSVT to suitable patients.
* Participate in ongoing service developments, including the redesign of pathways for patients with Parkinsons disease where possible.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Current Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist with dysphagia training; supported to develop into Band 6.
* Potential training in line management and supervision; LSVT and voice therapy training may be provided.
* Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle; ability to travel independently around the county to meet service needs.
