Job Title: Health & Social Care and Sociology Teacher (Cover) Contract Type: Temporary / Cover (Full-time or Part-time) Location: Bournemouth Reports to: Head of Social Sciences Purpose of the Role: To deliver engaging and effective lessons in Health & Social Care and Sociology, ensuring continuity of learning and high standards of achievement during staff absence. Key Responsibilities: Teach Health & Social Care and Sociology at KS4 and KS5 in line with departmental plans and exam board specifications. Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that motivates and challenges students. Assess, record, and report on student progress in accordance with school policy. Maintain good classroom behaviour and uphold the school’s expectations and values. Support students in developing analytical, communication, and critical thinking skills. Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistency in teaching and learning. Participate in relevant meetings and professional development activities. Person Specification: Essential: QTS or equivalent teaching qualification. Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Sociology, Health & Social Care, Social Sciences). Experience teaching KS4 and/or KS5 students. Strong communication and classroom management skills. Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education. Desirable: Experience with BTEC or Cambridge Nationals qualifications. Ability to contribute to related subjects (e.g., PSHE or Citizenship). Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)
