Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Communications and Marketing Officer to plan and lead our communications and marketing for the York Area group, which includes Beningbrough, Nunnington, Treasurer's House and Goddards.
What it's like to work here
This role works across 4 very varied properties across the York area. Beningbrough Hall is an 18th Century house north of York. The gallery in the House has yearly exhibitions and we have a long term garden vision designed by one of the UK’s leading landscape and garden designers. Nunnington is famed for its picturesque location, organic walled garden with spring-flowering meadows, flamboyant resident peacocks and a changing programme of exclusive and high profile art and photography exhibitions.
Treasurer's House was built in the 16th century and then purchased by a wealthy collector in the 19th century who created period settings. Today, the house is open to popular guided tours and is decorated for Christmas each year and is part of the vibrant tourist offer in the historic city of York. Lastly, Goddards is a hidden oasis on the edge of York racecourse. Five acres of garden rooms where the Terry family once lived, with a formal terrace and pond, herbaceous borders, wildlife pond and historic glasshouse.
What you'll be doing
You’ll work alongside other senior colleagues to develop messages and themes, and share them through various communications channels. You'll be looking for fresh creative ideas for how to bring to life the stories of National Trust places in your area, and how to talk to visitors about the work we do to protect nature, beauty and history here. This is a varied and dynamic role, so you'll be working at pace and with many diverse people and sites. No two days will be the same. You’ll be promoting events and the distinctive themes of some very different places, as well as joining our duty management rota.
