Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Advisory Associate Manager with strong UK Corporate Tax expertise to support a complex Oil & Gas tax environment. This role sits within a large advisory and delivery team and requires someone who can operate with minimal supervision, manage medium-sized workstreams, and engage confidently with both client and internal stakeholders.
The role is particularly suited to candidates with 4–5 years’ focused experience in Corporate Tax, IRF (International Relief at Source) or FP&A with strong tax exposure, and hands-on Ring Fence Corporation Tax (RFCT) knowledge.
Responsibilities
Corporate & Oil & Gas Tax
* Preparation and review of annual UK Corporation Tax returns (CT600)
* Calculation of Ring Fence Corporation Tax (RFCT) and Supplementary Charge (SC)
* Petroleum Revenue Tax (PRT) computations (rate currently nil, including detailed carry-back analysis)
* Calculation of upstream-specific tax-adjusting items
* Preparation and review of Quarterly Instalment Payments (QIPs)
* Preparation and payment of quarterly advance corporation tax
* Compute current and deferred tax
* Preparation of tax provisions (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
* Populate ETR calculations and prepare supporting commentary
* Analyse permanent and temporary differences
* Prepare tax disclosures and notes for statutory accounts
Finance & Controls
* Trial Balance and ledger reviews
* Support operating plan cash tax forecasts and latest estimate (LE) cash tax numbers
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
* Solve moderately complex tax and finance problems independently
* Adapt existing methodologies to meet client requirements
* Manage small-to-medium work efforts or teams
* Liaise with peers, team leads, and client stakeholders
* Ensure high-quality, timely delivery with minimal oversight
Skills & Experience
* 4–5 years’ experience in UK Corporate Tax or Tax-focused FP&A
* Strong expertise in Ring Fence Corporation Tax (RFCT) and Supplementary Charge
* Experience with Oil & Gas / Upstream taxation
* Exposure to IRF tax or international tax relief processes
* Strong tax provisioning and reporting experience
* Confident working independently in a delivery-focused environment
* Experience within large consulting or advisory environments
* Prior engagement with complex, multi-entity tax structures
Qualifications
* Corporate Tax P4 (Expert level) or equivalent experience
Additional Information
* Hybrid working model with preference for Aberdeen-based resources
* Candidates should be comfortable working from client or office locations 2–3 days per week
