Job Overview The Biologics Day Unit is an elective infusion suite, providing care for a range of services, including Rheumatology, Neurology, Gastroenterology and the Osteoporosis services. This is a nurse led unit, and as a small but dynamic unit we are hoping to recruit a friendly, efficient team player to join our department. This role is essential to ensure a smooth continuum of care. The job is advertised as part time, 3 days per week to include Saturday shifts as required in the department. Previous Experience Of The Hospital Millennium System Is Essential. We envisage the applicant needs good communication skills, experience in administration to be able to provide a full comprehensive administrative and clerical service in support of the professional staff involved in patient care. The role includes coordinating the infusion requests to assist a positive patient experience in an efficient and compassionate manner. To work as part of the administrative team within the Biologics Day Unit and ensure the smooth running of the department administration service. The successful applicant would be an active member of the departments Multi-disciplinary team. The departments aim is to be efficient in providing infusions in a timely manner to prevent admission to the hospital. Our patients are often regular attenders, our team pride themselves with building good rapport with patients, maintaining the high standards will be part of the role for successful applicant. Main duties of the job To provide an efficient and professional reception and clerical service which gives confidence to patients and their relatives. To include: To support in coordinating Biologics Infusion appointments and reschedule infusions. To receive patients and relatives in a friendly and courteous manner and provide relevant information to patients and their relatives clearly and in a way that patients and relatives understand. To answer all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, taking action as appropriate. To liaise with Nurses, Doctors, GP’s and other members of the Department team obtaining and communicating necessary information accurately to assist the provision of a quality service for the patients. To be responsible for maintaining information systems, data entry, using a variety of software to achieve this to achieve national standards of data collection and audit. To communicate clearly and effectively to present a positive impression of the team and services at all times. Further Duties Listed In The Job Description Document.
