Job Title: Domestic Abuse Outreach WorkerLocation: Coventry (with travel across the city)Contract Type: Full-Time
A long-established women's organisation is seeking a dedicated Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker to join its Coventry-based team. This role focuses on supporting women and children affected by all forms of domestic abuse, both within the community and across the organisation's services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and develop tailored support strategies for women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
* Deliver outreach support through drop-ins, surgeries, and community engagement.
* Develop policies and practice guidelines in line with organisational procedures.
* Stay informed on legislative changes and emerging issues in domestic abuse.
* Build links with existing projects and community services to develop joint initiatives.
* Design and implement monitoring and evaluation processes to assess service impact.
* Facilitate workshops, group sessions, and training for professionals and community groups.
* Improve identification and referral pathways into the service.
* Participate in multi-agency meetings and collaborative work.
* Support and collaborate with trained volunteers and community champions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly in domestic abuse settings.
* Strong understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and families
* Excellent communication and people skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
* Empathetic, resilient, and non-judgemental approach
* Ability to speak a BME, Eastern European, or African Caribbean language.
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
* Willingness to travel across Coventry as part of the role.
