Support with reviewing, drafting and negotiating supplier agreements for the procurement team, including all direct and indirect material procurement and will be the principal legal business partner to the Procurement function.
Will primarily be responsible for all procurement arrangements governed by UK law but will collaborate with legal colleagues globally as required in order to support global negotiations. Transactional work will include a variety of complex procurement agreements, often involving multiple geographies and role holder is responsible for ensuring compliance of all contractual arrangements with PepsiCo policies, including anti-bribery, Supplier Code of Conduct and information security. Role holder will also be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate training programmes for the procurement function.
Responsibilities
* Reviewing, drafting and negotiating UK law governed supplier agreements for the Procurement function.
* Responsible for collaborating with various internal clients, including Vendor Management, Information Security, Corporate Risk, Supply Chain, Finance and Control in order to provide advice and guidance while helping to maximize value and mitigate risk in procurement transactions.
* In addition, role holder will be responsible for provision of legal support in relation to supplier disputes, for the management of any supplier contract related litigation and in relation to procurement audits.
* Role holder will be legal representative for Procurement CEC, in order to facilitate robust control environment.
* Role holder will be responsible for collaborating with internal clients on process improvements to facilitate greater efficiency and drive best practices in overall procurement contract management, in order to achieve the sector’s simplification goals.
* Role holder will also be responsible for ensuring compliance of all contractual arrangements with PepsiCo policies, including anti-bribery, Supplier Code of Conduct and information security and data privacy requirements.
Qualifications
* Fully qualified lawyer with the ability to advise on UK law, and excellent academic background (2.1 or equivalent).
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or corporate legal department (in-house experience strongly preferred).
* Superb communication and drafting skills in English.
* Proven track record of negotiating complex supply arrangements against industry leading players, and pragmatic skills to balance legal risk against commercial priorities.
* Strong ability to identify, assess and mitigate risk, whilst enabling the business to move quickly.
* Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines, including ability to work under time constraints and multi-task.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with prioritization skills to manage multiple projects.
* Demonstrated ability to persuade/influence others at all organization levels.
* Ability to translate legal requirements into actionable business/technical requirements.
* Ability to manage complex cross functional inputs and to work as part of a collaborative team to deliver commercial objectives within acceptable legal parameters.
* Able to foster lasting relationships across varying organizational levels and among internal clients with the maturity to interface with all levels of management.
* Self-starter who welcomes responsibility, along with the ability to thrive in an evolving organization and an ability to bring structure to unstructured situations.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with legal colleagues and internal clients in a global environment.
* Ability to arbitrate on difficult decisions and drive consensus through a diplomatic approach.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize assignments.
* Matrix management skills and business acumen.
