The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a mainstream secondary setting. Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
* Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
* Promoting inclusion and encouraging independence
* Supporting pupils with emotional, behavioural, and social needs
* Liaising with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care, or youth settings)
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient nature
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent) – desirable but not essential
