2. The Role
As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you’ll be an integral part of the team, contributing across a wide range of accounting tasks and client services.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Preparing annual statutory accounts for a diverse client base
* Supporting the production of monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Handling VAT returns and assisting with bookkeeping tasks
* Using cloud-based accounting tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
* Getting involved in ad-hoc financial assignments
* Supporting more senior colleagues with client queries and reporting
This role is ideal for someone looking to build confidence, technical expertise, and responsibility within a friendly and collaborative environment.
3. About You
You're probably a part-qualified AAT or ACCA studier with at least 1–2 years of experience working in an accountancy practice. You’re confident handling basic accounts preparation and VAT work, and you're ready to take your next step with a practice that offers structured progression.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* A strong foundation in practice-based accounting (minimum 1 year)
* Familiarity with cloud accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage
* Solid Excel skills – pivot tables, formulas, and general competence
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
* A willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
