Overview
Occupational Therapist - Community Mental Health role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. This is a fixed-term post for 12 months based in Riverview Resource Centre, Dumbarton. The post offers the opportunity to be involved in shaping and developing the Occupational Therapy service and the experience of service users through the delivery of core Occupational Therapy assessment and interventions. The shift pattern is Monday–Thursday, 09:00–17:00 and Friday 09:00–16:30.
Responsibilities
* Carry out specialist core Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions using the Model of Human Occupation to underpin practice.
* Use standardised assessments and tools during patient intervention to demonstrate the effectiveness of Occupational Therapy intervention.
* Work closely with MDT colleagues including nursing, psychiatry, psychology and social work.
* Contribute to shaping and developing the Occupational Therapy service within Adult Community Mental Health Team.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experienced Occupational Therapist who is confident with core skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative clinical style.
* Well-developed knowledge of care of adults with mental health problems and of appropriate interventions.
