We have an exciting opportunity in Hywel Dda University Health Board, within the county of Pembrokeshire, for a Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Community Physiotherapy team.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic, positive, and motivated individual with the skills to engage well with patients. The candidate should be able to work both under supervision and independently, support innovation and training, and work flexibly within a team. Relevant experience in patient care is desirable.
The role involves working with patients with complex mobility issues in their homes and on Health Board sites, including those with frailty, neurological conditions, post-surgery recovery, recent hospital discharges, and mental health conditions.
Additional information
This position requires working as part of a rota to cover 7-day services, with travel within the HDUHB area and a payable mileage allowance. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome to apply. Support for learning Welsh is available for unsuccessful Welsh speakers.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Knowledge
* GCSE Maths and English (grade A - C) or Essential Skills in Wales (ESiW)
* Level 3 Diploma in physiotherapy support
* Significant knowledge and experience (Level 4) supporting therapeutic interventions with arms-length supervision
* Relevant courses supporting clinical work
* Broad experience as a support worker in therapy or related fields
* Plan to complete Level 4 therapy apprenticeship or 120 credits of Level 4 physiotherapy-specific learning within 2 years
* Basic IT skills and knowledge of data collection systems
* Professional, technical, or academic qualifications related to clinical practice up to 180 credits at Level 4
* Stars stroke competence
Experience
* Manual handling and manipulation skills to improve client independence
* Visual acuity and perceptual skills
* Ability to work unsupervised in community settings, managing delegated workloads
* Knowledge of specialist therapeutic equipment
* Understanding of roles of other health and social care staff
* Staff supervision experience
* Additional clinical or healthcare experience
* Experience working with groups of patients
* Keyworker or Case Manager experience
