We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our small but high-impact FP&A team. Reporting into the Head of FP&A, this role has significant autonomy and accountability for production of the end-to-end management accounts and line-managing and developing one team member.
The Management Accountant will interact with the Finance Director, and members of the FP&A team and broader Finance team, playing a key part in ensuring reporting is accurate, insightful, and delivered on time, and supporting decisions in a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment.
Your key responsibilities
Preparation of management accounts
* Full accountability for the end-to-end production of management accounts
* Preparation and review of monthly management accounts for all Group companies
* Preparation of consolidated management accounts
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations
* Completion of monthly Board and Executive reporting pack
Reporting
* Produce insightful reporting including Sales activity, Customer and R&D reporting
* Develop P&L reporting by Function, Department and Product, building relationship with key business stakeholders
* Provide MI to Executive on request
Forecasting and budgeting
* Collaborating with other members of FP&A team to assist in producing forecasts and budget, and supporting packs
Continuous Improvement
* Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes, reporting quality, and model governance, delivering accuracy and reducing monthly end reporting timeline
* Proactively implement process improvements and strengthen controls through automation
* Leverage financial systems, data, and tools to improve automation, insight, and efficiency
Leadership & People Management
* Direct line management responsibility for one management accounting team member, including goal setting, coaching, development, and performance management
* Act as a mentor and role model across the wider finance team, raising the bar for attention to detail, rigour, ownership, and reporting quality
* Ensure consistency, insight, and high technical standards
Qualifications
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA)
Experience
* Proven experience producing timely and accurate financial information
* Experience working in a SaaS environment advantageous
* Experience managing, coaching, or developing others (or clear readiness to step into a people-management role)
* Experience with financial and operational systems (e.g. SAP, Jira, Salesforce) advantageous.
