Contracts Manager – Groundworks

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with groundworks and civil engineering experience to join a long-standing regional contractor to manage sites across Cornwall.

The Role
1. Overall management of designated sites, ensuring on-site health and safety compliance and maintaining high standards at all times.
2. Managing site teams, direct labour, and subcontractors.
3. Ensuring all plant and materials are fit for purpose.
4. Overseeing PPE and on-site HSE compliance.
5. Implementing short- and long-term programmes and planning to deliver sites on time.
6. Liaising with internal and external Health & Safety consultants, advisors, and auditors to ensure duties and responsibilities are met.
7. Regular client liaison on progress and attending meetings as required.
8. Ensuring timely delivery of sites while meeting budgets.
9. Regular liaison with both commercial and technical teams.
10. Sourcing and recruiting site teams and labour, overseeing ongoing training, and addressing HR matters.
Requirements
11. Proven experience at Contracts Manager level within groundworks (housing and/or commercial considered).
12. Strong programming and planning abilities.
13. Solid understanding of health and safety management, RAMS, and COSHH — SMSTS ticket required.
14. Commercial and financial awareness.
15. Full driving licence (sites will be across the region).
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE + company vehicle or car allowance.
