Corporate Governance Manager (Internal Only)
This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the 'ECT Family' — includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHS and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Applications from applicants not listed within these groups will not be accepted.

The Corporate Governance Manager is responsible for supporting the corporate governance arrangements of the Trust and has administrative responsibility for supporting the corporate business function of the Trust Board, ensuring effective, proactive governance support to the Chair and Board members. The role includes line management responsibility for the Executive Assistants and Corporate Governance Officer.

Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of systems and policies supporting corporate governance.
* Ensure maintenance and updating of the Board Assurance Framework and corporate risk register.
* Implement and manage an internal audit tracker system to meet assurance requirements.
* Provide effective, proactive governance support to the Chair and Board members, including line management of Executive Assistants and Corporate Governance Officer.
* Develop processes and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and good governance practice.
* Oversee corporate registers and support for the Trust Board, board subcommittees, and other board events including the Trust’s Annual General Meeting.
* Exercise independent judgement, flexibility, and personal initiative; manage competing priorities under pressure in a calm, positive, supportive manner.
Qualifications, Education and Knowledge
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
* Relevant qualification in governance or extensive theoretical and practical experience of corporate governance.
* Broad understanding of the NHS.
* Understanding of business and risk‑management requirements.
Experience
* Extensive experience within governance, performance, or business management.
* Experience working in a complex organization.
* Evidence of ability to handle highly sensitive information and manage conflict appropriately.
Skills
* Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages.
* Ability to take initiative and act without direct supervision.
* Ability to balance competing priorities and act on key tasks.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 a year (subject to job matching)
