Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for day-to-day uptime of CHRA and VSR equipment for current and new processes.
* Provide engineering solutions to resolve daily production process downtimes.
* Improve OEE equipment availability.
* Support new product introduction (NPI) during off-design tool (ODT) testing and ensure execution through APQP, PEP and PPAP processes.
* Assist NPI ME with production set-up sheets and support creation of operator standard operating sheets.
* Provide ongoing engineering support to resolve run-at-rate production problems.
* Drive continual improvement using the Company Standard Operating System with Six Sigma methodology across manufacturing methods and processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Work to internal Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures, continually seeking to improve the department\'s method of work.
* Maintain records and drawings to provide an accessible archive in line with IATF16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 requirements.
* Identify continual improvement opportunities through root cause analysis, kaizen processes and other problem-solving techniques.
* Facilitate the use and edition of FMEA and Control Plans.
* Responsible for procurement of final assembly equipment and tooling for new processes that comply with UK PUWER regulations.
* Maintain existing tooling and processes; implement process improvements to increase OEE (availability, performance, quality).
* Perform VSR correlation activities with OE plants and engineering.
* Control capital for OPEX projects – initial proposal, specification, budget requests and budget control.
* Perform any other duties within the scope of this role as required by the business.

Experience / Education
* Experience in the automotive industry is desirable; previous manufacturing and product engineering experience is essential.
* Degree or equivalent in engineering is essential.
* PLC, pneumatics and electrical experience is essential.
* Tooling and fixturing design capability is desirable.
* Knowledge of turbocharger manufacturing processes is desirable.
* Microsoft software skills are essential.
* Working knowledge of modern logistics, warehousing and assembly machining processes.
* Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred.
* Green Belt certification required; Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert desirable.
* IOSH Managing Safety qualification or equivalent preferred.
