Head of Sustainability & Resilience
Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract
Hours: Available full-time, part-time (21-35 hours per week) and as a secondment
Salary: £62,443 starting salary p/a (prorated if part-time), plus excellent benefits package

IStructE is a charity and professional body for structural engineers, committed to sustainability and resilience.
As Head of Sustainability and Resilience, you will be the Institution’s lead engineering expert on sustainability, climate action and resilience. Working as part of the Technical Directorate, you will develop policy, influence members and staff, and strengthen the Institution’s impact internationally. You will play a pivotal role in embedding low‑carbon design, sustainability and resilience into the culture and competency of the profession, supporting committees, panels and members worldwide. From producing high‑quality guidance and CPD resources to representing the Institution to government and global partners, this is a unique opportunity to lead meaningful change within structural engineering.
To be shortlisted
* Member (Chartered) Grade (MIStructE) or equivalent in a similar profession
* Experience of developing and implementing sustainability, climate and resilience policies within an organisation
* Knowledge and understanding of sustainability and climate action principles and practices, both general and those relevant to the built environment
* Experience of influencing policy and change at various levels would be advantageous
